Erchonia® is a very successful company with an almost cult-like fan base. Their main focus is on super low-power therapy lasers with an average power of around 7.5mW. This is not watts but milliwatts. Their trademarked products are truly cold (no feeling of warmth) and they are all considered Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT). They are unique in the laser world for their theory that dosage does not matter. They believe that all the work is done with the pulsing of the laser light and not by apply an appropriate dosage like we see in most of the independent research. When NALT did a meta analysis for successful and unsuccessful therapies, they found that all the unsuccessful therapies were based on too low a dosage to see typical positive results. Still, they are one of more successful companies in the laser space. They work with colleges and universities to help them write the curriculum based on their unique philosophy of close-to-no-dosage laser therapym so we often have to point recent grads to research to understand the difference between Erchonia and the rest of the world of lasers. We often get Erchonia users trading-up to Avants. Avant does all the same pulsing as Erchonia but does it at about 200 times the dosage. The Avant can treat the full range of applications that an Erchonia can treat, but it will do it with dosage based on the best practices in the industry.

The following is an abbreviated summary of some of the products Erchonia sells. Erchonia is an outlier in the world of laser for a couple reasons.
- Their product are mostly RED only operating at 635nm. The majority of the therapy laser manufacturer focus on IR in the range of 800nm to 980nm.
- They operate at some of the lowest power levels in the therapy laser world but they make up for it with some complex pulsing and some of the most diverse protocols of any company. Their standard products are from 7mW to 50mW. For reference, laser pointers are 5mW.
- They claim it is O.K. to treat through clothing. They are the only laser company that makes this claim.
- The product revolves around very low dosages with all the emphasis on the pulsing. Users must buy a book from a different company to see what pulsing frequencies should be manually entered into the laser so the setup time per patient on an Erchonica is relatively high compared to other lasers.
Their products are mainly targeting professionals who are worried that higher power will somehow damage the cells.
